Michigan Israel Business Bridge - MIBB
Posted by: Robyn Lederman in Untagged on May 02, 2008
Inviting all Israeli and Michigan based firms and companies to join the Michigan Israel Business Bridge (MIBB), a business based organization aimed at benefiting a mutually beneficial business partnership between Israel and Michigan. For a complete description of who and what we are, check out our website (still under development): http://michiganisrael.com/ohttp://michiganisrael.com/
MIBB is not a philanthropic venture --- it's all about doing business between our two countries. Every year, the CEO's of dozens of Israeli companies come to the US seeking to collaborate with US companies in areas such as advanced manufacturing, biotechnology and life sciences, water conservation, homeland security, and software and networking. But most Israelis have no clue what Michigan has to offer in these areas and thus rarely include Michigan in their itineraries, so we have established MIBB to remedy that. MIBB will arrange site visits and high-level meetings between these Israeli and Michigan companies, and in turn we plan to organize trade missions of Michigan-based companies to visit Israel.
One key benefit of MIBB is that members are both permitted and encouraged to profit from the relationships they create with Israeli and Michigan based companies. When these companies decide to establish a presence in Michigan or Israel, they need help finding angel investors, real estate, legal, accounting, sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing talent, and MIBB members are here to facilitate filling those need. That's our goal --- to make it a win-win proposition for doing business together.
It's our turn to showcase what Michigan has to offer and our newly-hired executive director, Ron Perry, is hard at work to ensure our success.
Have we had any success so far? Absolutely! Check out the latest news on the website about the Israeli companies OraBio, RenoPharm, and the NGT technology incubator. We are also playing an important role in Governor Granholm's trade mission to Israel which will need to be rescheduled due to emergency surgery (http://www.michigan.gov/gov/0,1607,7-168--189811--,00.html/ohttp://www.michigan.gov/gov/0,1607,7-168--189811--,00.html ).
